Niko Marinelli is a ritual body art master, performer, actor, and creator of Erotic, Sacred & Ritual Art, whose work explores the body as a living temple, a mythological landscape, and a gateway into expanded states of consciousness.
His artistic path began in Rome through the study of acting and performance, later expanding into a multidisciplinary field that brought together theatre, meditation, movement, body painting, ritual, and embodied presence. Through years of artistic experimentation across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, Niko developed a unique language of Ritual Body Painting – a practice that fuses transcendental painting, meditative states, and the expressive intelligence of the body.
Over time, his work evolved beyond visual art into a complete performative ritual. Matter, fire, colour, music, and movement meet inside his performances, giving birth to ancestral dances, archetypal figures, and mythological creatures that seem to emerge directly from the unconscious. What began as painting became a “Dance of Light” – an avant-garde form of ritual theatre where the body, the stage, and the present moment become one living canvas.
At the heart of Niko’s work is the sacredness of the body. Through his exploration of Eros, Tantra, and ritual art, he invites a deeper perception of sensuality – not as performance for its own sake, but as a force of presence, beauty, instinct, and transformation. His artistic language touches the place where desire, fear, devotion, and vulnerability meet, opening a space where the erotic can be remembered as something sacred, alive, and deeply human.
Niko’s performances are immersive and often participatory, depending on the nature of the space. Audiences may become part of the ritual through colour, thread, texture, gesture, and presence, entering a living scene where art is not pre-made, but discovered in real time. His work is rooted in listening: to the body, to the space, to the audience, and to the mystery of what wants to arise in the here and now.
As a holistic facilitator, speaker, performer, and director of Ritual Art events in Italy and abroad, Niko continues to explore the edge between contemporary ritual, avant-garde theatre, and embodied transformation. His work investigates the desires and fears moving through modern society, transforming them into images, gestures, and rituals that reveal what often remains hidden beneath the surface.
