Niko Marinelli is an actor trained at the Actor Studio International, whose artistic path emerges from the fusion of the Strasberg method, meditation, and ritual performance techniques developed through travels across Europe, America, Africa, and Asia.
He further deepened his studies in performance art at the Marina Abramović Institute, expanding his research into durational performance, stage presence, and direct audience engagement through immersive, meditative, and participatory practices inspired by the Abramović Method, based on the connection between the body, concentration, endurance, and collective consciousness. From this research, Ritual Body Painting takes shape as an ever-evolving expressive language.
His performances blend Ritual Body Art and Experimental Avant-Garde Theatre, weaving together fire, matter, and colour to create immersive and mystical experiences, often involving direct audience participation. Alongside this, he directs Ritual and Erotic Art events internationally and integrates the study of Eros and Tantra into his work, exploring the sacredness of the body and the transformation of sexual energy.
He deepens his practice through shamanic acts and performance techniques, developing an increasingly radical approach to the stage, which also leads him to share his work as a facilitator and speaker in international and academic contexts, including Roma Tre University.
His journey brings him into direct contact with indigenous cultures, from the Amazon rainforest with the Inebu tribe to the Philippines, where he is welcomed by the Tagbanua tribe and granted access, as the only foreigner, to their sacred lakes.
At the core of his research lies the primordial connection between human beings and the wild, bodily expression, and non-verbal communication, aiming to awaken and expand instinctive, sensory, and behavioural capacities, leading to a deeper balance between the physical, emotional, and spiritual body and the surrounding environment.
