Katarina Rajović

Guide of Embodied Creativity

Katarina Rajović is a ceramic artist, clay workshop facilitator, and embodied creativity guide devoted to helping people reconnect with their innate creative nature through the grounding, tactile wisdom of clay.

Her path with clay began during her studies in Materials Engineering, when she was first given a piece of clay as part of a scientific exploration of the ceramic firing process. What started as an academic exercise soon became something much deeper. That single piece of clay awakened a forgotten part of her being — the part that knew how to create, play, imagine, and express without needing to be perfect.

From that moment on, Katarina began to understand creativity not as a rare talent, but as a natural human capacity that lives within everyone. In her work, she believes there is no person who is not creative; there are only parts of us that may not yet have been given enough space, safety, and permission to awaken.

This belief became the foundation of her clay workshops. Through her guidance, participants are invited to enter the creative process without pressure, expectation, or fear of making mistakes. Rather than focusing on the final object, Katarina creates spaces where people can soften around perfectionism, experiment freely, and remember the simple joy of making something with their own hands.

Over the years, her love for ceramics deepened through education, practice, and further study, including time spent learning in Berlin. The potter’s wheel and the materiality of clay became central to her work, revealing clay as one of nature’s most beautiful and responsive materials – capable of becoming almost anything the hands and imagination allow.

For Katarina, clay carries a quiet healing power. It grounds the body, absorbs tension, gives shape to emotion, and brings the mind back into the present moment. Through contact with the earth, the hands, and the breath, the creative process becomes a form of slowing down, softening, and returning to oneself.

Alongside her formal education, Katarina has completed yoga teacher training and NLP Practitioner education, and is currently deepening her path through body-oriented psychotherapy training. These layers of personal and professional development naturally inform the way she holds space, allowing her workshops to become not only creative experiences, but gentle containers for presence, self-connection, and inner expression.

Today, Katarina leads clay workshops for children, adults, and families, both in her studio in Belgrade and in inspiring natural settings. She believes that the combination of clay and nature carries a special kind of magic, reminding us of our own organic rhythm and our connection to the earth.

At the heart of her work is the understanding that clay is much more than a material for making cups, bowls, or vases. It is an invitation to slow down, cultivate patience, release control, play, experiment, and allow the inner world to find form through the hands.

At ADA, Katarina brings an offering of grounded creativity and embodied presence – a space where clay becomes a doorway back to the self, and creation becomes a gentle reminder that beauty does not need perfection in order to exist.

Workshops

Workshop description

This workshop invites you to slow down, return to yourself, and encounter clay as more than a material.

Clay is earth in one of its most tangible forms. It reminds us that everything begins from the same source, while every form that emerges from it is entirely unique.

The experience begins with a short guided meditation and intention-setting practice. With eyes closed, participants will first meet the clay through touch, noticing its weight, texture and presence before beginning to shape it.

Through gentle reflection, you will be invited to listen for what wishes to emerge – perhaps a symbol of an intention, a memory, a feeling, a transition, a personal quality, or simply a form that asks to be created.

Rather than deciding everything with the mind, the practice invites you to trust the conversation between your hands, the clay and the present moment.

There is no right or wrong result. Clay naturally invites play, curiosity, patience and presence, while gently softening the need for perfection.

Clay forgives.

If something does not feel right, it can be reshaped. In this way, the material becomes a quiet reminder that we, too, are always capable of beginning anew.
Throughout the process, participants can personalise their pieces through textures, symbols, fingerprints, letters or impressions from nature, allowing each object to become a unique expression of the experience.

The pieces will not be kiln-fired during ADA, but participants may carefully take them home as delicate keepsakes or choose to continue the process by having them fired at a ceramic studio afterwards.

At its heart, this workshop is a remembrance: we all come from the same earth. We take different forms, carry different stories and leave different marks, yet remain part of the same living whole.

Leave Your Mark.

What you will receive

You will experience a grounding creative practice that brings together mindfulness, self-reflection and artistic expression.

Working directly with clay offers an opportunity to reconnect with the intelligence of the hands, slow the pace of the mind and explore creativity through presence rather than perfection. Each participant will create a personal object shaped by their own intention, feeling or experience of the moment.

Through the process, clay becomes a mirror for how we relate to ourselves: how we respond when something changes shape, when an outcome differs from what we imagined, and when we are invited to soften, adapt, or begin again.

You will leave with a handmade clay piece, a deeper connection to your own creative nature, and a renewed sense of relationship with the Earth, yourself and the shared source from which every unique form arises.

INDIVIDUAL/SMALL-GROUP SESSIONS

Session description

Unlike hand-building, the pottery wheel invites us into a different kind of relationship with clay. Before we can shape anything, we first have to find the centre.

In this intimate session, participants are invited to experience the beauty and rhythm of working on a pottery wheel, regardless of previous experience. Rather than focusing on mastering a technique or producing a perfect object, the session creates space to slow down, experiment, play and discover how clay responds to presence, patience and touch.

Working on the wheel quickly reveals a delicate balance – too much force and the clay can collapse; too little, and it may never take form. The practice becomes a quiet exploration of strength and softness, supporting and releasing, leading and listening, doing and allowing.

Participants may join individually or as a pair, sharing one wheel and creating together. When experienced as a pair, the process can become a beautiful practice in communication, trust, rhythm and connection, as both people learn to respond to the same moving material.

The emphasis remains on the experience itself: the sensation of clay beneath the hands, the concentration required to stay centred, and the freedom of creating without expectation.

Participants are welcome to carefully take their creations home as a reminder of the session. The pieces will air dry naturally and, if desired, can later be kiln-fired at a local ceramic studio.

At its heart, this is an invitation to meet clay, and perhaps yourself, from the centre.
