AMENTI is a community-based organisation and a decolonial psyche-somatic MoveMeant Method. Their foundation is grounded in an archetypal and symbolic understanding of the world and the human experience. AMENTI embodies the magic of being by exploring the core elements of humanity and our relationships with everything around us. Drawing inspiration from ancient Kemetic knowledge, they have a profound understanding of the connection between the body, mind, and spirit.
Gil’ The Grid’ Gomes Leal, AMENTI’s founder and developer of the method, was a professional hip-hop dancer for years before developing these teachings. The Amenti MoveMeant Method is a way of becoming more self-aware through the use of the body. In the collective, they view our human experience as a holistic system, comprising the body, the mind, and the spirit. The method combines dance, Jungian psychology, somatic exercises, and shamanism. AMENTI combines knowledge from all corners of the world to provide a comprehensive understanding of life, fostering harmony, agency, and self-acceptance through an understanding of our individual choices and their impact on our lives.
Community, the collective, is an innate and essential element in everything they do. To understand ourselves is to understand the other, and vice versa. Other people are our mirrors, teaching us much about our choices, experiences, traumas, and joys. This is the reason why everything that AMENTI teaches is taught in groups. It fosters empathy and connection when we allow others to be part of our healing journey.
