Nessi Gomes is a Portuguese-British singer and songwriter inspired by a deep belief in the transformative power of music. Born on the tiny Island of Guernsey to a Portuguese family, Gomes channels influences from both sides of her ethnicity, blending the essence of the traditional, emotional, and ‘larger than life’ Fado folk music with British progressive modern inspiration. Her music is so gentle and fragile yet robust. It speaks of self-development, chasing shadows and crumbling walls, of the infinite search for what one’s heart needs. Her ensuing tales of darkness and light allow a deeper exploration of the human condition, psyche, collective fears, and torments. Her work is uniquely her own, deeply interwoven with hope and dread.
Her debut album, “Diamonds & Demons”, is a lyrical and musical description of what it’s like when light and darkness dance. Parallel to her music, she created Vocal Odyssey workshops and retreats that encourage participants to meet with the spirit of their voice. Thousands have already experienced the process under her guidance.
